We’re making it safer around all schools and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Regardless of the cause of a crash, speed is the difference between someone being able to walk away relatively unharmed, or being seriously injured or killed. Making a mistake on the road shouldn't cost someone their life.
We're planning to reduce speeds to 30km/h around schools, 40km/h in neighbourhood streets and other reductions where appropriate.
The highlighted areas in the map are due to be implemented in the next three financial years, with more safe speeds rolling out over the next ten years, as funding allows.
Head back to ccc.govt.nz/safespeed for more detailed information on this plan.
