South-East Central Neighbourhood Plan

Let's grow together

* Now closed for comment*

Over the next 10 years the city’s South-East Central neighbourhood is expected to change a lot, so we need your help to develop a neighbourhood plan that will bring your vision for the area to life. This plan will help guide the work that the Council, our partners, and the community do to support the growing South-East Central neighbourhood.

SE Central is the neighbourhood bordered by Fitzgerald and Moorhouse Avenue, Colombo, St Asaph, Manchester, and Armagh streets. The neighbourhood includes Te Kaha multi-use arena, Te Pukenga (Ara Institute of Canterbury), Christchurch East School, Latimer Square and a wide range of thriving businesses and community-hubs.

Using this interactive map you can share your ideas, ask questions, and help us to better understand the opportunities and challenges of the area.

Simply drag a pin from the top of the page, drop it on an area that interests you and tell us what you think! There are five types of pins you can choose from:

  • Movement
  • Safe and connected communities
  • Commercial and hospitality
  • Green, healthy, sustainable
  • Community facilities
